Review: 2018 Volvo S90

600 × 335
For 2018 Volvo decided to give back seat passengers more leg room and that is something S90 customers can get excited about. This change is one of the few tweaks Volvo added for the 2018 model. You can come to see these change in person at Capital Volvo of Albany in Albany, New York.

Performance
All S90 models come with a 2.0 liter inline-4 and a turbocharger, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The S90 T5 model will pack 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The all-wheel-drive T6 has the same engine build under the hood but adds a supercharger, stepping up the power to 316 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque.

When it comes to fuel economy, the best performing version is the T5 with front-wheel drive, achieving 24 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, 27 mpg combined as estimated by the EPA. If you decide to add all-wheel drive you fuel economy will still be an impressive 23 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg.

Features & Technology
For 2018, the Volvo S90 is available in two different trim levels, both of which exude luxury. The 2018 S90 T5 Momentum comes standard with features for leather upholstery, panoramic moonroof, LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, power front seats with memory for the driver’s side, and a 9.0-inch infotainment screen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Drivers also have the option of adding all-wheel drive to the S90 T5.

If you find yourself looking for more features in your luxury sedan, there is an available package that adds four-way automatic climate control, 12.3-inch LCD screen in place of the instrument cluster, and LED headlights that move with the steering wheel. The Convenience Package will add a power trunk lid, surround-view camera system, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview mirror compass. Other available features drivers can add to their S90 include heated seats, heated steering wheel, head-up display, rear air suspension, and the Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

Safety
Volvo is a brand consumers expect safety from and you can see why by the offered active safety features on the 2018 S90. The available active safety features include standard low and high-speed automatic emergency braking, active lane control, rearview camera, blind-spot monitors, and road sign data directly communicated to the cabin of your S90.

There are options to upgrade your safety features, for example, the LED headlights. The headlights can be upgraded to lights that bend with the steering wheel or adding automatic high beams on the Momentum trim.

If you’re looking for a luxury sedan, and safety is a top priority for you, the 2018 Volvo S90 could be the perfect vehicle for you! Give us a call at Capital Volvo Cars of Albany to set up your test drive today!
